It’s been almost a year since I wrote anything in this space. How time flies, I miss myself and adulting has hit me so hard in the past year that I barely have enough time for hobbies such as writing here. I miss this space, I really do and I didn’t realize how much time has gone since my last post, whew!

Since I mainly post book-related stories here, one would have thought that I have not read anything in the past year, but this is not the case. All thanks to my book club:“the Afrocentric book club” I have read at least one book per month and in no particular order, I have read;

  1. Butter honey pig bread by Francesca Ekwuyasi
  2. Notes on grief by Chimamanda Adichie
  3. Nearly all men in Lagos are mad by Damilare Kuku
  4. Seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
  5. Swallow by Sefi Attah
  6. The first Woman by Jennifer Makumbi
  7. What it means when a man falls from the sky by Lesley Nneka Arimah

Reading keeps me on my toes, it is not only a means of escape for me, it is also a lens through which I see the world. A few days ago I caught myself using a quote I had learned from a book I read to speak to a friend. Hopefully, in the coming days, I will do a review of all the books that I’ve read this year.

Cheers to new beginnings of consistent posting.
